This policy explains how to report copyright infringement on TaleTykes and how we handle takedown and counter-notification requests.

We respond to valid DMCA notices and maintain a repeat-infringer policy for platform users.

Overview

Optiarms, Inc. dba TaleTykes respects intellectual property rights and expects users of TaleTykes to do the same. This policy describes how to report alleged copyright infringement on the platform and how we respond under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") and similar laws.

This policy applies to learner work, teacher materials, AI-generated content published through the platform, library resources, portfolio artifacts, and other content hosted or displayed by TaleTykes.

Required Elements of a DMCA Notice

To be effective, a DMCA takedown notice must include all of the following:

Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works are covered by a single notification.
Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it (URL, learner display name, class, book title, writing project ID, or other platform identifier).
Your contact information, including name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Your physical or electronic signature.

Our Response to Notices

When we receive a valid DMCA notice, we may remove or disable access to the identified material and notify the user who posted it, where applicable. We may also restrict publication workflows or accounts involved in repeat or egregious infringement.

We may forward the notice to the user who submitted the content. Misrepresentations in a DMCA notice may expose the sender to liability.

Counter-Notification

If you believe material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to our designated agent with:

Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal.
Your contact information and consent to jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address, or if outside the U.S., any judicial district where TaleTykes may be found.
A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
Your physical or electronic signature.

Repeat Infringer Policy

We may terminate or restrict accounts of users who are repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances, including users who repeatedly submit infringing learner work, teacher materials, or publication requests.

AI-Generated and Learner Content

TaleTykes hosts learner-created work and AI-assisted content subject to parent controls, school settings, moderation, and publishing approvals. Copyright ownership of user content is addressed in our Terms of Service.

If you believe AI-generated or learner-published content infringes your rights, include enough detail in your notice for us to identify the specific artifact, publication scope, and account context.

Schools and parents remain responsible for reviewing content before public or school-wide publication where applicable.
We may also remove content for privacy, safety, or policy reasons even if no DMCA notice is received.
Non-copyright takedown requests may be sent to legal@taletykes.com with the same identifying details.
