What the safety checks caught

We publish this every quarter, whether or not the results flatter us.

Our safety page describes four checks that run before a book reaches your child. This page reports what those checks did. Nobody requires a product of our size to publish it. We do it because a description of a check is a claim, and a count is evidence.

Small numbers are not published

A count of one is a single person. Across a few thousand families, “two books blocked for one reason this quarter” narrows the field far more than it looks, so we publish any figure under 5 as “fewer than five”. We publish zero as zero, because a quiet quarter is worth reporting too.

The first report covers the first full quarter after launch, and it appears here once that quarter has finished. We would rather publish nothing than publish a quarter that has not happened yet.

What this does not cover

Nothing on this page is about one family, and nothing on it can be traced back to one. We count decisions, not people.

Matching pictures against known illegal imagery is described on the safety page. We do not count it here, because that check is not yet running: the services that hold those lists require an agreement we do not have. We have built and tested everything around the check against a stand-in, and this page will report on it from the day it runs.
