A class's Progress tab and each student's page show the last 7, 30 or 90 days. On the Classroom and School plans you can also choose both dates yourself, for a term or any stretch up to a year, and print a one-page summary of a student. Every figure is a count of what happened. None of them is a grade, a score or a reading level.
Show the dates of a term
- Open the class from Your classes and choose the Progress tab.
- Under "From" and "To", choose the first and last days of the term.
- Choose "Show these dates".
The totals, the chart and the table of students all cover those days, and "A term" is lit above them. A "To" date after today counts up to today. A student's own page takes the same two dates.
Choosing dates comes with the Classroom and School plans.
Print a summary of one student
- Open the student from the Progress tab or the class list.
- Choose "A summary to print".
- Change the dates if you need to, then choose "Print or save as PDF".
The summary fits on a page. It says how many days they read, their minutes and how many of those were listening, the books they finished, pages read, words they tapped for help and new words met. It lists the books they finished lately, where they are with what was set, and the sounds worth a minute together.
It leaves out the reading level, words a minute, answers right and anything about safety alerts, because each of those needs the explanation on the student's page beside it.
Download a spreadsheet
On the Classroom and School plans:
- Progress. On the Progress tab, "Download as a spreadsheet" gives one row for each student, for the period on screen.
- Assignment results. On the Assignments tab, "Download results as a spreadsheet" gives one row for each student and each assignment that was set. An assignment's own page has the same link for that assignment alone.
The results say where each student got to in the book, how many of the questions they answered and how many there were. They never say how many were right, and what a student wrote stays on the assignment's page. Drafts are left out.
Downloads are turned off while our staff are viewing your account. Each download is recorded, because it is a copy of children's reading leaving TaleTykes. If you download a great many in an hour, you are asked to wait a little.
