If the full price is hard for your family to afford at the moment, you can choose Sprout at a lower monthly price. It has the same books and readers as Sprout at the full price. You do not need to tell us why, and we do not ask for any proof.
When the lower price is available, the pricing page says what it is.
Choose it
- Go to Plan and books.
- Under "A lower price", tick the box that says the full price is hard for your family to afford at the moment.
- Press "Choose the lower price".
If you do not have a plan yet, the payment page opens for Sprout at the lower price, with your free days if you have not had them. If you already pay for Sprout monthly by card, your next bill is at the lower price and nothing else changes.
When you cannot choose it

A plan that a group pays for, or that we gave you, does not show the card, because you are not being charged for it.
What we keep
Only that you said the full price is hard, and the date. We never ask which benefits you receive, what you earn, or why. It is deleted when your account is closed.
If it changes
You can move to Sprout or Grove at the full price whenever you like, from Plan and books.
We can take the lower price away from an account, for example if a link to it has been shared somewhere public. If we do, we email you at least 30 days before. The email gives the ordinary Sprout price and the date it starts, which is the date of your first bill at least 30 days after the email. Until then nothing changes: any bill before that date is still at the lower price, and "A lower price" in Plan and books shows the same date.
From that bill your plan carries on at the ordinary price. If you would rather not, cancel before that date with "Manage your plan" and you are not charged the ordinary price. If you think it was a mistake, write to us from Help in your dashboard.
