Payments for TaleTykes are taken by our payment provider, which also keeps your invoices. Your plan's invoices are on the provider's page that opens from Plan and books, and "History" on Plan and books lists the recent changes to your extra books. The companies we work with are listed in the privacy notice.
Invoices for your plan
- Open Plan and books.
- Press "Manage your plan". If a payment has failed or your card expires soon, the button reads "Update your card".
- Our payment provider's page opens, with your plan and its invoices.
The button only appears for a plan you pay for by card. A plan paid by a group, or given by us, has no invoices from us; see Plans paid by a group, or given by us.
Receipts by email
Any receipt our payment provider emails you goes to the address you sign in with. When you change that address in Settings > "Account and security", we pass the new one to our payment provider as well, so receipts follow you. Change your email or password explains how.
If you bought books as a gift, your receipt is the email "Your TaleTykes gift is ready", which has the gift code in it. It goes to the address you typed on the gift page. See Give books as a gift.
Currency and sales tax
All our prices are in US dollars, and that is the currency you are charged in.
Prices do not include sales tax. We add it at checkout in the places where we are registered to collect it, on plans, extra readers and packs of extra books alike. Where tax applies, the payment page asks for your billing address, because that is what the tax is worked out from, and the tax is shown on top of the price rather than taken out of it.
The History list on Plan and books
Further down Plan and books, "History" lists the last 20 changes to your extra books, with "What", "When" and "Books" for each. It is a record of books, not of money, and books used from your monthly allowance are not listed there.

"History" only appears once there is something to show.
